Interport connects

Interport is a specialised transhipment area between a standard gauge and a broad gauge track. We efficiently handle containers, palletised goods, grain, rapeseed, edible oils, kaolin, and bulk materials. As of February 2024, we are installing four large-capacity silos to store grain with a total capacity of 10,000 tons. On a vast area of 24 hectares, we have a network of different gauge tracks; we have heavy handling equipment, dry bulk storage facilities, truck parking and a proven team of professionals who will provide you with all handling services, including clearance and onward forwarding across Europe.

Interport is located 15km from the centre of Košice near the international airport and is situated on the backbone rail and road network connecting Interport with most European countries. Thanks to its central location and the current revitalisation, which is gradually being implemented with the help of a €53 million EU subsidy, Interport is becoming a logistics hub of strategic importance.
We can handle and store your cargo professionally, provide all customs services, and arrange transport to your desired destination. The customs office is located in a newly renovated building right on the premises of Interport.
We work on double gauge size tracks
The transhipment facility has a network of 10 lanes with a total length of over 7 kilometres. The European gauge of 1435 mm, used by 60% of the world's railways, combines the broad 1520 mm gauge typical of Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and other countries east of the Slovak border.
heavy handling equipment
We have quality handling equipment. A powerful gantry crane with a lifting capacity of up to 45 tonnes operates above the Interport track; the terminal equipment also includes a modern reachstacker for handling intermodal containers and forklifts, including large ones with a lifting capacity of 22 tonnes, capable of lifting heavy loads such as steel coils, etc. From 2026, we will have two new hi-tech gantry cranes with automation and maximum efficiency.
Container depot
We can store up to 1000 TEUs on site. We have enough space for storage and safe and efficient container handling. Over the next two years, we will expand the storage facility to a target of 4,000 TEU. Interport can also store handling trailers and swap bodies.
Large-capacity storage areas
We offer comprehensive warehousing services - from renting warehouse space to warehouse management for specific commodities and the necessary handling and customs services. We have a 25,000 m2 covered warehouse with a clear height of 15 m, suitable for food products, palletised goods and big bags, and outdoor storage capacities of up to 60,000 m2.
Truck parking and handling area
Up to 100 trucks can be parked in the fenced area with security service so that the transhipment from trains to trucks and vice versa can occur without complications and delays. The service includes possible truck weighing, other services, and refreshments on the Interport premises.
Professional shipping services
Thanks to our partnerships with major international carriers, we provide rail and road transport to any destination, including intermodal transport and shipping from the supplier to the end user.
Customs services
on-site
Our customs declarants will prepare all necessary documents for export, import or transit of goods (T1 and others). We have a public customs warehouse and indoor and outdoor premises for temporary storage of goods. An indisputable advantage is the customs office directly on the premises of Interport.
GLIP Košice - We prepare a logistics hub of strategic importance
We are preparing a hi-tech logistics centre on 600 ha, i.e. 6,000,000 m2. Together with the state administration and European institutions, we are aware of the strategic importance of this location as a gateway between the Eastern markets and Western Europe. GLIP Košice will be a joint project between the CREAM Group, Interport, the Košice Region and the state administration of the Slovak Republic. We will compete, in terms of capacity and importance, with the largest similar hubs in Europe. GLIP Košice will be unique in this location on the eastern border of the European Union.
