External transhipment

By means of external transhipment it is possible to tranship any goods from a broad gauge track to a European gauge track or vice versa. The platforms enable the combination of transport systems, which creates another level of freedom, road transport – railway, truck – carriage.

Two platforms enable transhipment of goods immediately after unloading and after a certain amount of time secondary loading into a required transport vehicle.The capacity of unloading platforms is 25 carriages, which in terms of max. tonnage represents approximately 1,250 tons of material.. The capacity of a broad gauge and a regular gauge is identical. The system of collecting tracks belongs to the category of European gauge tracks. Interport uses five collecting tracks connected directly to Veľká Ida railway station.

Internal transhipment

Internal transhipment performs unloading of goods from a broad gauge track to an indoor customs warehouse, bin transferring and another loading to a European gauge track.

This system may also work the other way round, it depends on whether it is the export or import of goods into the former Soviet Union countries or the European Union. The tracks are symmetric and interconnected by an indoor warehouse. The warehouse is designed for the storage of palletised goods.

A big advantage is that the tracks are on the same level as the road, ensuring the possibility of transhipment of trucks.
